Funded by the Champagne Ardenne Regional Council, now the Grand Est Regional Council, the ISOTECA project is being led by the University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) in association with the University of Reims and with MADoPA.

The main theme of the ISOTECA project is the usage and conditions needed for the adoption of technologies for elderly individuals. It is underpinned by three sub-projects conducted separately by each of the partners.

The project led by MADoPA

Longitudinal evaluation (September 2014 September 2018) of usage of a GPS wristband tracker (Bluegard wristband) for elderly individuals with Alzheimers disease.

The research work conducted by MADoPA as part of this project is based on an evaluation of usage of a GPS wristband tracker – the Bluegard wristband developed by Bluelinéa – over a four-year period in the homes of four individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.

MADoPA’s role

  • To produce a socio-ethnographic portrait of Alzheimer’s disease in the context of everyday life, highlighting the positive aspects of the disease, the factors that drive and keep individuals going in living with the disease in their homes, in their care relationships and in their outside environment.
  • To characterise usages of the GPS wristband tracker according to the socio-ethnographic observations and analyses performed.
